Harvard Club of Australia - 2010 Fellowship Program!
Each year, the Harvard Club of Australia’s Nonprofit Fellowship (NPF) Program makes it possible for the CEOs of up to two Victorian nonprofit disability sector organizations to attend the week-long course Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management (SPNM) at Harvard Business School. This highly regarded program has a focus on managerial and strategic decision-making skills which are in increasing demand within the nonprofit sector in Australia.
In 2010, the SPNM program will run from 18 to 24 July. An HCAV Nonprofit Fellowship covers the recipient’s SPNM course fees (tuition and case materials, accommodation, and meals), as well as travel to and from Boston, including a side-trip to allow for visits to appropriate nonprofit organisations in North America. Fellows and/or their organisations must meet any costs over and above the Fellowship award (A$12,000 in 2009), and any out-of-pocket expenses.
The HCAV Nonprofit Fellowship Program is supported by donations from members of the HCAV community and through fundraising at HCAV functions and events.
Harvard Fellowship Recipient: Graeme Kelly
DPV is proud to announce that one of our members, Graeme Kelly, CEO of Vicdeaf, has been awarded a 2010 HCAV Nonprofit Fellowship.

Graeme Kelly, CEO Vicdeaf

Graeme was appointed in 2007 as Chief Executive Officer of Vicdeaf (Victorian Deaf Society). Prior to this appointment he had over 20 years experience in health and emergency services in a broad range of corporate roles with a strong emphasis on strategic and operational planning, human resources management, corporate communications, and operational general management.
Graeme has had a strong commitment to the not for profit sector in Victoria since 2001. In addition to his Vicdeaf responsibilities, he is Chairman of Outdoors Inc, an organization supporting people with mental illness through the provision of recreation and adventure activities, and a Board member of the Andrew Dean Fildes Foundation for children with language and learning disabilities.
The Harvard Fellowship Program is a great opportunity to expand his personal competence, while focusing on current practical organization challenges, and hopefully finding new solutions that will make a real difference to the future of Vicdeaf. While in the United States for the Harvard Program, Graeme will also visit two Universities, including Gallaudet University (a Deaf University), that Vicdeaf is engaged with in research as well as the Canadian Hearing Society in Toronto who are doing some great work with hard of hearing people.
Congratulations Graeme on your achievement!
