Last Monday, 8th February, Disability Professionals Victoria launched the new DPV eLearning Centre. This web site provides people across the sector with 24/7 access to online learning. It’s an exciting initiative that will provide ongoing professional development opportunities for people in the sector regardless of location or time as well as strengthening the capacity of disability professionals to support individuals with a disability.
The DPV is working with partners OSP and LearningSeat to develop and roll out an online Behaviour Support course in April. We also plan to explore other options with relevant industry partners to develop tailored online programs that build skills and capacity for people who work in the sector.
To access the site go to the DPV e-Learning Centre from the e-learning page of the DPV website and register for the free DPV Introduction To eLearningCentre found in the Induction section of the Browse menu. DPV members receive a 10% discount on all training programs by entering “DPV” in the Member Details field of the Checkout page.
During February, How to Manage Stress, is also being offered as a free program to encourage members to sign up and experience the benefits of online learning.
If you are interested in being involved in developing future sector relevant online learning please contact Roxanne Addley, Executive Officer DPV, on 8637 1238 or by email roxanne.addley@dpv.org.au.
